Here is a description from Jacob about how he approached his interpretation:
“The title (In)Organic already got me thinking of the paradox between the natural and the artificial, between how we are both of the world and think of ourselves as outside of it. I then noticed that by turning the postcard counterclockwise 90 degrees from how it is pictured above, it almost resembles a tree with roots, a trunk with some funny shadow thing, and foliage. This gave me the idea of splitting the piece into 4 “movements” I suppose, each reading the score from a different orientation. The two horizontal readings being relatively linear from left to right and the vertical being more “organic.”
